You seem to think I should remake her because I "didn't make her right to begin with". Of all the hair/face combinations available in Prophecies, I'm pretty happy with what I chose. When Factions came out, there were some combos I liked a little more, but not enough to remake the character. Now in Nightfall there are some combinations I like a lot more, but I can't even imagine deleting this character to make a new necromancer. I certainly can't justify paying $10 to get another character slot to make another necromancer without deleting my current one. Now magnify this problem across my mesmer, elementalist, monk, and ranger, all of whom have at least 100 hours invested at this point.

Problem with that is they might throw it in with the next PvPish chapter, which means it's a $50 stylist with crap PvE content ala Factions. And then, the only options for the players will be the ones that come with that Chapter... just like the material storage...
No, we need the option sooner than later; it's far past time for this addition.

It would be especially nice if we had acces to the haircuts from all chapters we have bought, regardless of where the character was born.

Yeah. Add a hairstylist NPC in LA for Tyrian hairstyles, one in KC for Canthan hairstyles and a third one in Elona capital for NF hairstlyes. Make them charge like 2000 gold for a hairstyle.
And make the ribbons in female monk "princess Leia" hairstyle dyeable! It's driving me crazy! I want to dye them! NOW!
PUNY HUMAN! MORBO WILL DEVOUR YOU WITH HIS MIGHTY JAWS IF YOU DON'T DO THIS!!1 Also, .. I want cookies. And milkshakes.

This is really an easy feature to implement. It does not need to have too much depth, just being able to change the hairstyle and the haircolor would work fine.

I like the idea of Luxon and Kurzick specific hairstyles, and I'm tired of looking at the chopsticks on the back of my Tyrian monk's head.

Also, they don't need a new UI or make it into a gold sink. It can be as simple as a /newhair command that brings back the character select screen where you choose your new look.
If Anet wants to turn GW into Maple Story and give away content and charge for features, then I'll be all for them charging for features. GWs however already has charged you for the content when you bought the game, they are just being lazy about adding features to extend game play.

Well, the argument behind making it a goldsink is that people want it and GW needs more goldsinks.
The reason I think it would be reasonable for them to charge real money for it is, like the ability to purchase new character slots, it would require a non-trivial investment of resources into something that isn't really going to make them any money if they don't charge for it. Obviously I'm not saying they should charge $10 per character changed or anything crazy like that. The fact of the matter is, they make money by making & selling expansions, and so that's where they invest their resources. Updates to existing products are minimal, because those products aren't making them much money any more.
I'd prefer it was something totally free. I'm OK with it being a gold-sink. I can even live with it being something they charge real money for (as long as the price is reasonable, given that new face/hair combos come out in each expansion). What I really want is a reasonable way to change my characters' hair, and possibly their face or even skin color; I'm not planning on doing it often enough for the cost of doing it to bother me all that much.

I'm dieing to change my warriors hair from a pony tail to that Conan look with the headband thing. I've had him for over a year, with all the missions beat from both campaigns so far and all towns unlocked and 2 sets of 15K armor... i'd hate to delete him cuz of hair... argh
